Anna Maria Island is located on the Gulf of Mexico with its nearest city being Bradenton, Florida. With airports in both Tampa (1 hour drive) and Sarasota (30 minute drive), Anna Maria is an easily accessible destination. If driving is the preference, take the US64 West Exit off I-75, or for spectacular Tampa Bay views, navigate over the Sunshine Skyway Bridge to your Anna Maria Island destination.
Shopping is within walking distance and there are dozens of adorable eateries and restaurants in the area. Check out this map for details. Even the public beach has a great little cafe, which serves all-you-can-eat-pancakes.
The Historic Bridge Street is just 3 miles south of this Anna Maria condo rental. You can find a variety of merchants and check out the Sunday market from November to April. Click here to learn about its history!
Continuing south on Gulf Drive leads to Longboat Key, and just a few more miles takes you to St. Armand's Circle in Sarasota for world class shopping and eating. This area is also home to an art festival every January, and on the nearby mainland you'll discover the Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall.
As you travel and explore the sights, you may want to take advantage of the free trolly on Anna Maria Island, or the full bus service throughout the area.
